Spelling Sprint is a free, independent app created by Yakub, a parent who built it to help her own son with his SATs spelling practice and decided to share it freely with other families.

Spelling Sprint stores the following information only on your device, using your browser's local storage:

• The child's first name (entered at setup)
• The year group(s) selected
• Word confidence scores and practice progress
• Session history and weekly practice activity

No data is ever sent to any server. Nothing leaves your device. We have no database, no user accounts, and no ability to access your child's data.

Spelling Sprint is designed for use by children under parental supervision. Because all data stays on-device only and is never transmitted or shared, we do not collect personal data in the legal sense — but we take children's privacy seriously.

We recommend parents set up the app on behalf of their child and use the Parents Dashboard to monitor progress.

Spelling Sprint uses no cookies, no tracking, no analytics, and no advertising of any kind. The app is completely ad-free and always will be.

The only browser feature used is localStorage — standard browser storage that keeps your child's progress saved between sessions on the same device and browser.

Spelling Sprint contains a link to Ko-fi (ko-fi.com/spellingsprint) where parents can optionally make a voluntary donation. Ko-fi is an independent platform — if you visit it, their own privacy policy applies. The link only opens if you choose to tap it.

No other third-party services, SDKs, or integrations are used.

All data is stored locally in your browser. To delete it completely, clear your browser's site data or local storage for this page. On most mobile browsers this can be done via Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data.

Because we hold no server-side data, there is nothing further we need to delete on our end.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data held about you. Because Spelling Sprint stores data only on your own device, you have full control at all times.

The word lists used are based on the UK statutory spelling word lists for Years 3–6. Spelling Sprint is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any school, exam board, or government body.
